Work Experience

Systems Engineer / Fortigo Inc.

  • Created a 3-tier architecture for the test environment: Web server running Apache, Application server running Tomcat, and Data Base server running Oracle. A Back-up ftp server was also installed and configured. All servers run RedHat Linux.
  • Debugged and tested Fortigo software that performs a nightly back-up to the back-up server.
  • Debugged and tested various Fortigo installation scripts written in Bash and Perl.
  • Resolved customer support calls writing PL/SQL scripts.
  • Provided technical support to the sales department.


Solaris Engineer / SUN MICROSYSTEMS

  • Investigated, debugged, and resolved Environment Monitor (envmon) application and System Control Board (scsb) driver bugs.
  • Tested, coded, and integrated fixes to Solaris8 and Solaris9 code bases.
  • Designed the build and release environment for the Netra software packages.
  • Built and released patches and packages for Solaris8 and Solaris9.


Software Engineer / Compaq Computers, Tandem Division / HP

  • Designed, developed, and tested software, (clonesysdisk), to install the second node of the Integrity Clusters/Application Protection System, (IC/APS), Compaq’s S4000 series systems.
  • Investigated, debugged, and fixed software problems in the Unix 4.2 OS, Tandem’s Availability Software, and the IC/APS system. These include problems in Fastreboot, Online Software Upgrade, (OSU), the IC/APS’ Keepalive system, the System Availability Measurement Framework, (SAMF) and the Process Pair Manager (PPM).
  • Supported Motorola’s Supercell division for clonesysdisk and OSU features.
  • Designed, developed, and tested the “highly available” Keepalive system and spawndaemon, the user interface to Keepalive.
  • Designed, developed, and tested enhancements of the SAMF feature for the IC/APS systems.
  • Designed, developed, and tested a feature to automatically generate the SAMF report on the customers’ systems and dial the reports out to Tandem’s support center.
  • Coordinated the contributions of three groups to develop and test this feature.
  • Trained and performed Fagan Code inspections.
